So, you are thinking of booking your family photography session (woohoo!). Here are some things you might be wondering. If you have any other questions, just ping me an email, text or WhatsApp message through my contact page. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!
If it’s a drizzly day, I often ask clients to embrace it! Overcast light is SO flattering and a little bit of rain can add to the fun. However, if it really is tipping it down, we can postpone for a couple of hours. I try and keep a whole day free for photoshoots to ensure we can move our session about. If all else fails, we can either do an ‘at home’ photoshoot or we reschedule & pray for better weather!
The first thing to consider is what you feel most comfortable in. The idea of having your photograph taken may make you feel slightly self-conscious (although I’ll try my hardest to make it fun!), so it’s important you are wearing something that you feel good in. I normally recommend a neutral colour palette as you will compliment Devon’s beautiful landscape & the photographs will effortlessly match each space that they are displayed in. Each family member wearing similar tones will also create a cohesive photograph. But then again, sometimes all your toddler wants to wear is a Spider Man onesie & that’s OK too!
I always suggest having your photoshoot somewhere that means something to you. A favourite walking spot, a place from your childhood, your kid’s favourite big rock. The possibilities are endless in Devon! You want to look at the photographs & think of fun times that you’ve shared. Once your photoshoot has taken place, I will send an email with a link to a private gallery where you can view all the best photographs from your session, they will have my unique preset added to them. You can then pick your favourite images. Once you’ve selected the photographs you want to buy, I will do a final edit before sending you a link to download the high resolution files.
Each photoshoot (bar my mini-sessions) is £100 which is paid upfront to secure your booking. You get to view all the best photographs from your shoot before deciding which ones you want to purchase. My packages start at 5 photographs for £50. Head to my pricing page for more information.
A super chilled, fun session. I’m chatty & friendly, I’ll try and make you feel comfortable by giving you gentle instruction. I’m mainly there to capture you having a lovely time as a family & to make sure you get the shots you want. We’ll wonder around the location (or your home), do some posing, play some games & have a laugh!
Yes of course! The more the merrier. The family session is normally for immediate family, but extended family are welcome too – just add £15 per additional family member.
Travel up to 25 miles from Tavistock is covered in your package. Travel outside this area is charged per mile thereafter. I cover most of Devon & I often venture out to Cornwall too! Just let me know where you want your shoot & we can work something out!
